Czech: Vodafone and T-Mobile announce the beginning of discussions on network sharing

T-Mobile Czech Republic and Vodafone Czech Republic announced today that they have entered into discussions on the sharing and development of mobile network infrastructure. If successful, the outcome of these discussions could represent a major milestone for further improvements in quality and availability of services provided to Czech customers.

One of the key benefits of this potential agreement between T-Mobile and Vodafone could be better coverage and thus better availability of services for customers with significantly reduced requirements for the number of base stations leading to a decrease in negative environmental impacts.

“This cooperation is a great example of the Czech Republic leading the rest of Europe with innovative solutions in mobile communications,” say the representatives of both companies.

Vodafone Czech Republic: Receive 600 free SMS or 120 calling minutes for free

Are you going on vacation and do you need to be in contact with those who are close to you? Then take advantage of a summer bonus from Vodafone that combines subsidised phones and service packages.

From July 4 to August 30, every new Vodafone customer that chooses a subsidized mobile phone, including preset Vodafone live! phones, along with any Full tariff (except for Power Up) will receive 600 free SMS (200 SMS every month over a period of three months) from the operator. If the customer prefers to call, instead of text messages they can choose 120 free minutes to all networks in the Czech Republic (40 free minutes per month over a period of three months). Unused SMSes and free minutes cannot be transferred over to the next month in this case.

“Every week our customers send around 30 million messages from their mobiles,” says Jana PapГkovГЎ, Senior Manager for New Customer Acquirement, Vodafone, adding, “SMS messages are among the most popular serves on the market and therefore we decided to accommodate customers accordingly. In the new offer we also have not forgotten about customers who would rather use their mobiles to make calls.”

Vodafone offered a similar special offer last September. Out of the three packages offered (SMS, free minutes, weekend calling), half of the customers chose the SMS package.
