VELCOM is finishing acceptance of new written requests for testing UMTS-network. The subscribers who applied with written applications till the 20th of July will have the services activated according to The rules of the experimental network 3G VELCOM testing.

New participants of testing will be informed about activation of the access to the services of the experimental UMTS-network via SMS-delivery.

According to the Rules of testing the company is canceling the access to the services of the experimental network to some acting participants of testing.

Information about the results of testing or changes of the UMTS-network testing conditions will be placed on site www.velcom.by.

Belarus’ first GSM standard mobile operator Velcom, has begun test operations of a trial 3G network there.

The trial will be launched in Minsk’s central park and tests will be run between 30 March to 31 August 2006.

Velcom subscribers – except for PRIVET users – will be able to take part in the tests as long as they own a UMTS/W-CDMA-compatible phone.
