easyMobile has dropped its price for text messages to others on the same network in the UK to just 1p.
Launched on 1st April, the offer ends is advertised as ending on 31st December 2006 and includes voice calls at 3p a minute.
Currently picture messaging is running with an introductory price offer of 20p per MMS that ends on 31st May 2006 when it will revert to 30p.
Prices remain at 15p for voice calls and 5p for SMS outside the easyMobile network. These new prices are applicable to users as soon as their account has been topped up online for the first time.
Mobile Internet is charged as ВЈ3 per Mb of data with no charge for the connection time to the GPRS network.
“easyMobile is now a fifth of the price of Orange for communications between easyMobile customers and remains less than half the price of Orange for calls between networks,” said Stelios the founder of easyMobile. “That’s the real reason they are taking us to court on 20 November on the spurious claim that we should be stopped from using the colour orange! What Orange is really frightened of is that easyMobile is offering consumers a better deal,” he continued.
