Australia: New BigPond Caller Tones add Bling Bling to your mobile’s brrring brrring
Don’t be surprised if you call a Telstra mobile and are greeted by the latest performance from an Australian Idol finalist, an Austin Powers impersonation, or the St Kilda Football Club anthem instead of the traditional and monotonous ‘brrring brrring’.
BigPond Caller Tones allow Telstra customers to replace the standard “brrring brrring” sound that a caller normally hears while they wait for their call to be answered, with a personalised audio clip. These include a range of latest music releases, celebrity voices, footy anthems, jokes or quotes.
According to BigPond Group Managing Director, Justin Milne, BigPond Caller Tones are the ultimate way to personalise your mobile phone.
“BigPond Caller Tones are the latest option our customers have to add humour and personality to their mobile – and all before someone’s answered the call,” Mr Milne said.
“It means customers aren’t just limited to ringtones and wallpapers to personalise their mobiles – now callers can get an idea of the personality of the person on the other end of the phone without hearing them speak.
“Customers can even choose different tracks to play at different times and on different days or play special tracks for special callers. So for example you can play your footy song after a win, or perhaps a Mariah Carey ballad for your special someone.”
There are hundreds of music tracks and lots of other BigPond Caller Tones available from record labels including Universal Music and Sony BMG. Telstra customers also have unique access to content from Australian Idol and other Telstra sponsored properties such as the V8 Supercars and AFL footy anthems.
The BigPond Caller Tones service is available for $1.95 each month, plus a one-off purchase price of $3.50 for each track selected. Once purchased the track can be used indefinitely. As a special promotional offer Telstra customers can trial the service for the first month for free and choose a bonus track from a selection of tracks to get started.
